Absolutely fantastic day out. Very friendly welcome and no fuss or panic. Boat was clean and tidy. I recommend going up towards the Shady Oak pub and back as it's not as congested with permanent moorings as the other way.

I would like to say a big thank you to Colin at Chesterboat hire for a lovely day out with our friends sailing from Tattenhall marina to the Cheshire Cat pub for a good meal and sample some nice beers.Our trip began on Dreamcatcher which is a delightful small boat with a toilet ,small hob and plenty of seating either inside or outside under a canopy which came in handy when a sudden rain shower came down but didn't spoil our day out.Would definitely recommend this company to anyone wanting to explore the Shropshire Union canal around the Chester area for a trip out on a day hire boat.
booked and paid deposit. Drove an hour to get to it with all family only to be told when I got there it was cancelled due to weather. The weather was poor so this was understandable but they had my number to call me in the morning to advise. Instead 7 of us over 2 families were let down after driving there. They had also done the same to others the same day. Didnt seem to bothered about letting us down either. Won't be rebooking again. Booked with llangollen boat hire instead which was cheaper too.
Booking, pick up and return all easy. Good communication from Colin. Aquarius well equipped and due to inclement weather was a bit of a squeeze for 10 but would have been fine if sunny. Had a lovely day. Would use again.
Chester Day boat Hire was excellent from start to finish. We asked to arrive half hour early. We found the boat easily from good directions. Piloting instruction was easy to follow. 8 of us had a lovely day boating up to Cheshire Cat pub and return. Boat was east to control and the weather was excellent. The marina cafe and facilities were good before and after our trip. All in all a very good experience! Jill Hammonds
