One to miss if you like Indian food with genuine flavours. On a positive note the service was quick, the food delivered hot and the nan breads were delicious. The vegetable sides of tarka dal and sag aloo were also nice. Sadly though the rest of the food really wasn’t very nice. We ordered a lamb Rogan Josh (oily, no real spice or flavour), a chicken passander (we have probably had over 100 of these and it has never looked like that. More tomato pasta sauce than curry. No spice, not a nice flavour, not creamy and the chicken felt cheap), and a lambs kofta curry which was inedible (curdled sauce, dry kofta and tasteless generally).

Embarrasing. I never complain about food, but this was something else. We ordered a Butter Chicken, Chicken Dhansak and Chicken Jalfrezi and you could taste that the same base sauce had been used for each of them. The only slightly average part was the 'normal naan'. We ordered a Keema Naan, which is described as \Naan stuffed with sweet spiced lamb mince\ - but it tasted like that lamb you get from a kebab shop after a night out at 3am with a bunch of chilli flakes on the top. Yum (see picture). The butter chicken was bright red and unlike any butter chicken I've tasted before. We got to pay 46 for the privilege too, result! Only saving grace was the delivery driver came to collect the food and apologise with a partil refund. You can tell he was embrrased.
When your dealing with takeaway the one thing that is most important is making sure that the order is full and complete, I spent 97 on Saturday night and the order was far from complete. The problem is if you ring and complain it’s too late, by the time you drive all the way back to collect what’s missing the evening is ruined. The Saffron lounge was busy but clearly struggling to cope with the volume. I had already had to drive back once as I hadn’t been given my complete order and then to get home and find items still missing was beyond poor. The food was average at best so over all we were left disappointed. In the current climate you need to have your business on point and paying attention to the detail. Perhaps a bit less quantity and attention to the quality of both the food and the service wouldn’t go a miss, I’m not interested in getting free food in the future as we won’t be returning. I work in a customer service environment and its vital to remember that you may have 50 orders but each one is individual and you must check and then check again. Once the customer leaves it’s too late. I wish you well Saffron Lounge and hope that you take these comments on board and make the very needed adjustments to ensure that your future customers are not left hungry like we were.
These guys are very friendly and helpful. Food is superb and if in an unlikely event a problem arises, they are excellent at sorting out issues. A very highly recommended restaurant/ takeaway.
The food here is amazing and the staff always make you feel welcome .
