ABBA Apps

Very wide selection of overseas foods, fresh vegetables and Halal meats. One of very few in Cheltenham that also do a wide range of frozen foods. In many ways, a one stop shop for a variety of fresh & processed foods not always readily available in a big supermarket. The diverse local community would be lost without it.

So glad to have discovered this place, just West of St. George's St. and the High St. Looking for ginger and garlic at a reasonable price for a stir fry, or even Chinese leaf? They have these, and lots of spices and bulk rice and pulses. The staff will help you find unusual items, too, like the Iranian noodles for Nigel Slater's ash reshteh recipe in the Observer ten days ago (see photo). I know I'll continue to come in here regularly. [Edit: I just found they also carry another hard-to-find ingredient for a recipe I've had moo make with a substitute in the past: Aleppo/pul biber pepper. Great to have found it in a convenient spot.]

Good varieties of collection no doubt. But had a very bad experience last week. went there with my wife, had our shopping. We had butcher item of 53 pounds they charged it double!!!! initially they didnt give me receipt but i was surprised to see a bill of 134 pound!! demanded the receipt and then saw they charged twice the amount!!! Eventually they returned extra payment..... but the fishy thing is why the most costly item was double! not other ones.... and why didnt they give the receipt in the first instance..... not a good pracrice. neither the cash manager nor the owner said sorry for a single time they just returned the extra amount. thats not a good manner at all......
