My colleague and I attended North West Hearing for a consultation and advice. As a result of preforming and producing amplified music we both suffered from tinnitus. Further to this our lead guitarist had an incident (acoustic shock) while using headphones. This left him with highly sensitive hearing unable to tolerate normal every day sounds. Something as simple as a coin dropping on a wood floor would cause him to clutch his ears in agony. As a full time band this was a serious situation for him and the band. In desperation he sought medical help but sadly the treatment and help did not extend to functioning as a musician. Use earplugs in loud environments being the full extent of the advice. As all musicians will understand clarity while performing is essential. After trying numerous plugs to no avail, we came across North West Hearing. This has proved to be the turning point; they totally understand the needs of a musician focus on enabling you obtain the hearing you need. Their manner and approach from the start is meeting your needs. The treatment support and advice is second to none.
