Our server was very knowledgeable about the food, ingredients, etc. I have an allergy but she knew exactly what needed to be said/done/prepared for me to have an enjoyable experience. Our chef had fun with us & cooked the food perfectly! My food had to be prepared in the back, which I expected due to my mushroom allergy. When I've been to Japanese Steakhouses in the past, my meal usually comes out long after everyone has a full plate and will often be tasteless. Not here! Came in perfect time with a load of flavor! I recommend this place to anyone wanting a great experience with great food!

It's really a shame because I wanted to give 5 stars! This type of restaurants is typically 80% experience and 20% food. As you walk into the establishment you see a list of rules (see photo)...perhaps that should be more of a warning side. One very positive note was our server Jimmy who was kind and attentive....but it stops there. Our \Chef\ basically cooked the food on the grill. We asked if he would do the volcano for the kids after he was done because there really wasn't any interaction. No flipping shrimp in the air or playing with the eggs. Typing this almost makes it silly to expect it, but again it's showmanship that makes this type of outing fun. The food was just above average with little flavor...that's subjective and would have been fine if there was engagement. The bill came and they added gratuity for a party of 4. What? Never heard that before but given the sign on front door, perhaps they just assume guests are not going to tip. Two adults and two kids was 126 (no alcohol)...seems pretty high considering that's more like Capital Grill pricing. Reflecting on our experience, I wouldn't go back even if it was free. Which is sad because we went with high hopes and really wanted to walk away wanting to come back.
