Service so good, I tipped both waitresses. However, be advised. They really do turn people away if no prior booking and they are at maximum capacity. What would you expect in the current climate? Think that says it all. Long live Chaplains. Part of the town/city since who knows when.

This is an excellent pub, has numerous large screens (so of course popular with the football crowd). Cheapest pints are 2.50. Specialises in real ale. Also serves food. Right in the centre of Sunderland.
Nice friendly pub. Covid restrictions were in place but was still able to have a great time.
