An amazing number and variety of migrating birds move through the salt brine lakes. If you can get access it is amazing. Lovely visitor's centre. The small town of Chaplin needs a bit more financial help to provide service to bird lovers.

This is a great and informative stop on the Trans Canadian Highway. There is a nice and shades spot with a few picnic tables. A beautiful spot to relax for a bit.

Nice place to take a break and learn at the same time. It is like a museum in Trans Canada with souvenirs shop & washroom.

A great rest stop, plenty of parking for larger RVs too. It is a safe place to stop, have a rest or go for a walk. It is also a great place to learn. The museum, though smaller, is very well done, interactive and you will learn something you never knew about how our world works, how the earth is formed to support birds not just found in Saskatchewan, but the many species that migrate through here too.

If you are super into birds or taxidermy then definitely hit this place up. There is some great information on marshland and the very gorgeous salt lake/mine. Not my cup of tea but a good pit stop at least.

This wayside place is a delight. Great interpretive material and friendly and helpful staff. You learn about the many birds in the area and then have a chance to spot them. Plus the sodium sulphate ponds that attract the birds are fascinating.
