I got sensible information and advice re. snow conditions and options before booking a fantastic expedition in the Vallée Blanche with experienced guide, Damien, making our own tracks on virgin snow! Best book in advance but close enough to be sure of weather.

We visited the office today to enquire about various multi day trips - we were interested in various dates as we return to Chamonix often, however asked specifically whether there was anything starting the following morning or the day after. We were made to feel like we had done something wrong by asking at (what we found at today was) short notice. The woman behind the counter was very condescending, she told us it was essentially ‘not her job’ to provide information about these such trips [listed IN THE GUIDING BROCHURE] and essentially told us off for ‘coming in here at 6 the night before you would like to go on a trip’ as if we were naughty children. We did not feel encouraged or supported, instead chastised. Not good customer service whatsoever and enough to put someone off exploring the mountains.
You should ask for Cecille as your guide, she is the best!

This is THE official guide service in Chamonix. Their guides are recognizable by bright green jackets and only the best of the best are selected to guide here.
Hired Pascal DuFour way back in March, 1997 with my friends for an epic day at Les Grand Montets and the Vallee Blanche. Came back 20 years later this February 2017 and hired him again, this time with my 18 year old son! 20 years later and still the best guide you could ask for: knowledgeable, professional, safe, and of course a tremendous skier!
