The tours were very nice and they took care well (despite a language barrier). For lunch we had three options (one was vegetarian). The tour to the gocta waterfall is quite exhausting, so i would recommend to rent a horse for the first 3km.

AVOID! Overpriced hustlers! They overcharge and under-deliver. I paid for two day-trips in English. The first trip was in Spanish (Gocta falls). I insisted that, on the second day (Kuelap), I be put in a group with an English guide. The old man tried to put me in a couple of tours which were in Spanish, and I protested. He finally walked me to a bus that was departing. I asked him again if there is going to be at least some English on the tour as this is an important historial site and understanding the tour guide is important to having a proper experience. The answer was, once again, yes. Well, guess what...I am on the tour now and typing this at the guide is describing the historial importance of the fortress IN SPANISH. If you don't speak good Spanish avoid these scam artist lying scumbags.

We organized a 3-day tour with Manuel Mendoza and it went very smooth! Great guide, good English, friendly and informative. Highly recommended!

We did two day tour with this company. The gocta tour was a mess but the trek, landscape and lunch (anything were they werent involved) were great. The kuelap tour was a complete rip-off and miserable experience. We started at 8h30 and arrive at tingo at 10h. We were told to go and book our food for the afternoon which everyone did in less than 15min. The problem started here has we had to wait until 11h30 (11h45 for the latest like us) to take the bus to the telecabine. It was a complete mess as they didn't hand the tickets but kept them. We were a group of 70 persons for one guy when they promised max 15 when we asked them while booking. Arriving at the top around 12h15-30. Another 30min was spent waiting while they were buying the tickets for the site. At 13h we started the 20min ascent to the main entrance of the kuelap site. We arrived at 13h15 and decided to wait since we were obviously quicker than most in our group. When the clock hit 13h35 we decided to go in without the guide as we were afraid to be rushed. At 13h50 while we were just at the beginning of the site we saw our guide pass the entrance and started following him and the 60 other persons (some of them had already grow tired of the experience and decided to go alone). He explained basically nothing and even when explaining since we were a group of 60 it was impossible to hear. At 14h55 the tour was already over and we were rushed down. The lunch was average and the bus only took off around 17h to arrive back in town at 18h20. A 10h journey spent waiting to visit only 1h the kuelap site!! This company shares its office and book of reclamation with Amazon trek / Amazon expeditions so this review will be shared on both.

The worst part of this is that it's overpriced. I found out later I could have gone on the same tour for S/. 135 (41) less. Manuel Mendoza, the owner, also tried to overcharge us TWICE, first claiming that we only reserved for 2 people, not 3 (trying to get an extra 100 from us). Then, the next day he claimed that the total price for the 2.5 day tour was S/.1,000 (300), when earlier we agreed on S.630 total (192). But the other reason why you should never use this tour company is that Manuel's communication is awful. He never confirmed in writing my 50% deposit of 315 soles (96) before we arrived, making me feel like I had paid into a scam. When I called him, he was quite rude to me on the phone. He never confirmed any details beforehand about our trip, I always had to call or write him. Times, guides, locations, and tour details were always unclear, and after our first day of tours, he stopped answering his phone calls and texts. We just ended up canceling, and found another tour though our hotel La Ensenada that was cheaper and way better.

We booked two trips, one to Gochta Falls, the other a 3 day trip ending at Kuelap. We were promised English speaking guides. First trip the guide had no English, he tried hard but as our Spanish is limited did not make an easy day. The second guide had good English but struggled as nothing was arranged for our night's stay or a restaurant booked in fact there was only one restaurant open - the food was awful. The third guide had little English and got lost taking us down a near vertical mountainside through thick brush ( we have the scars and bruises). Again the night's stay was not booked and we ended in a very sub standard hostal. Restaurant was however alright. We were prepared to overlook all this as we arrived back safe and not sick but the final straw was that Manuel, the owner had offered to buy our bus tickets out if Chachapoyas but at 7am was nowhere in evidence neither were the tickets we had paid for. It was only after involving a passing policewoman that we were taken to the bus station (had missed the bus) and put on another which involved a change. If you use this operator just beware that he is a useless organiser and has difficulty telling the truth.

We booked car service with them and had no issue. Pickup from Chachapoyas to kuelap for our hike. Our driver waited around all day which was great. He then drove us to Gocta. We also used them to drive us to Tatarapoto.
