Extremely beautiful and old holy place. Built in 1833. Notable visiting place

The foundation stone of the cathedral was laid on 18 March 1828 by Bishop James Doyle and completed in 1833. The Cathedral of the Assumption is the second oldest Roman Catholic cathedral built in Ireland.

Beautiful spacious cathedral and a fantastic concert venue. If cushions are available for hire, get one!
Top class! It might have lost a few tangible features over the years (looking at you wooden pulpit!) but definitely none of its metaphysical charm. Still the best place in town for a quickie on a Sunday and always plays the classic hits on Saturday night to set you up for the evening. I'd definitely put it in the Top 5 in the south-east.
Nice place
It's beautiful, the architecture is outstanding
This church had its wars when it was refurbished in the 1990s and now it is quite nice and was very suitable to the pan-Celtic concert that we attended there.
