A fabulous walk around a beautiful scenic landscape with attended gardens. Longest walk is about 1 hour 20 mins realistically but you can do the shorter walks as well to lengthen your stay a bit more. Cannot walk within the ruin which was a let down but safety first. The cafe is limited and anything hot is microwaved so maybe consider bringing your own food. Cakes were said to be homemade but tasted nothing special (sorry times 3). Entry in summer 2019 was only 12 for a family ticket of 2 adults and 2 children and concession for granny was 3. Not bad for an afternoon out.

Favourite place on earth. Stunning landscaped gardens. Photo opportunities abound. Great wildlife fox, otter, red squirrels and red and rose deer...with just about every wading bird, tern goose and duck, owl. And it has a wonderful tearoom. Make sure you go to the loo before you walk round as it's a long walk back!

Beautiful gardens and scenery, excellent for a stroll with a dog and a decent tea rooms to have a snack or something more substantial.

3.5* - visit if in the area especially in better weather. Pleasant gardens in need of some professional attention to turn onto a truly remarkable garden. The tearoom is pleasant enough with a wide range of food for such a small space. The ruin is only viewable from the outside which is a shame.
