Lovely ye-olde pub heavily associated with the castle which is only 100 feet away. Initially it feels more like a drinking pub, and indeed does support live bands on some days however day to day and in the evening it does have a far more warm, restaurant character toward the rear of the pub. Food has far more care, character and diversity than the normal 'pub fare'. In particular when I've visited for a few pints, some of their bar food, particularly their hand made scotch eggs have been to die for! Well worth a visit if you're in the area, there's a lovely home made ice cream shop opposite.

Let me start by saying the food there was extremely delicious. Then the delivery time was under 15 minutes for 4 people which is amazing. And the Inn was moderately busy. I am very satisfied with the servise, staff and the food. I will definitely be going there again. Recommend
Got the feeling that's where we belong! Delicious food, nice bear, and such a lovely stuff always ready for a little conversation, also local people who are willing to talk to you and tell their story. There are not enough words to describe how amazing this place is, simply go there and you'll fall in love.
Lovely staff, great food and beer, beautiful setting
Was looking for ice cream, but wasn't too disappointed that we were too late, and took very little persuading to sit outside with an ice cold pint instead. When you wander inside, there's a photo, on the wall, of some bloke who's apparently quite famous, next to a display of home made jewellery, credited to a local lass, who may, or may not be related to the local celebrity... I wouldn't buy any, for myself, much the same as I wouldn't buy any of his records, for myself, but... Hats off to their entrepreneur spirit
