Had a lovely visit, walking the grounds which were stunning. Oh our visit it was a sunny frost day which just added to the beauty of the place. We are looking forward to going back soon. Highly recommend.

Even though the house is closed at present, this is still well worth a visit. The grounds, though getting muddy, offer something for all ages, from the adventure playground through to the classical buildings and follies dotting the landscaped grounds. There’s also a wood to explore and the walled garden, although that is closed at times in winter. This year’s Father Christmas visit was excellent and we have got a silver membership, so we go as often as we can with the only proviso that we pre-book an arrival time slot. Cant recommend it highly enough.
Oh my! Must say the walk around the castle gardens and woodlands is the best bit! The castle tour lasts around an hour or so, with the audio guide, baroque style interiors, magnificent! It was interesting to learn about the castle and the history of it all. Can definitely spend half a day. Cafes and toilets were clean. Definitely recommend a visit!
Absolutely stunning. Gorgeous house and Gardens. Unfortunately I went on a Sunday I couldn't go in the house, but it's still beautiful from the outside
Stunning. We only visited the gardens and the play area / Skelf Island. Friendly staff. Very grand buildings and sculptures. Superb views and a few lovely lakes. Could even do a spot of bird watching for those that enjoy it (like me). Very nice stone fired pizza too! All very accessible, kid and dog friendly. Felt very safe in the current Covid situation. We used our Max Card to help towards the admission price. But it was very reasonable for a family. Ample parking and lovely retail outlets including a butchers and a garden centre.
