Fantastic place, not to be missed in you are planning your holiday in Sicily and especially if you are already in the south of Sicily. The park is only 1 hour drive from Palermo airport. There is the possibility of using electric golf kart inside (12 euros per person) and a guide (10 euros per person). Alternatively you can park your car in the free car park, visit the first 3 temples then come back and move your car to a second car park where you can explore the Acropolis. You can also walk from the first area to the second but it is a long way and not recommended in July/August when the temperature reaches 35 degrees. There is another alternative: visit the first 3 temples and then wait at the Florio Baglio where you can pay 5 euros per person for a lift to the acropolis and a return lift to the main car park. We found this to be the cheapest and more convenient option. Take plenty of water with you because there are no places where you can buy it once inside. Many opportunities for taking pictures, stunning backgrounds. Allow around 3 hours at least for your visit. The entry ticket is very cheap, only 6 euros per person. Right now you have to make an online reservation which can also be done at the door of you have not done it in advance.

You should definitely stop to check this place. Everything is well taken care of and explained in the boards. Prices start in 12 per person plus parking (around 2 per hour).

Must see archaeological site in Sicily. Beautiful setting with the seaside on the backdrop. The signposting and information sign on site could he better but still informative, and there is a nice museum with explanation about the different aspects of the site. I do recommend if you have the opportunity to visit the archaeological museum in Palermo prior to Selinunte, as this museum houses most of the finds and the original metopes. Especially the original decorations of the temples are extremely interesting and impressive to see. The site is vast but there is a little tourist train on site (5 euros extra to the entry ticket).

Very poor experience. 1. The 4 employees at the entrance : rude, useless, only able to speak Italian (in a tourism hot spot of Sicily..) 2. The person selling the tickets : very rude and open about it, useless, only able to speak Italian. Entrance ticket 6. 3. The entrance building : that probably cost a lot of money but appart from a few maps there is nothing valuable here. 4. The first temples : the first one looks very good. The other ones are in ruines and fading even more. The information for those sites is poor. 5. The second part of the site : this is the fun part. There is a parking, but you’re not allowed to go there by yourself. Why? No answer. You have to pay another 6 per person to get there in some golf car.. The employees working on the cabin for that road and the employees driving the cars don’t speak another language as well, and also quite rude. The other option is to walk 1,5 km (twice) under the Sicilian sun.. Pick your poison. The moral of the story : how do you provide a job to 40 to 50 unable useless people in the town of Selinonte? Well, you rely on your heritage and take the money from the pockets of visitors, while providing no valuable service in return.
