When my family decided to vacation in France this summer, we elected that the touristy Parisian route would not provide the sort of experience we would most enjoy. This place, however, is exactly why we went south to Provence. Treize 600 Vins is a small wine shop and restaurant on a backstreet from the port. The owner brought his wonderful personality to the table every pass, and it is clear that he loves what he is doing. It shows in the food, too. This sort of place is where you go and eat whatever the wife is making that night—or the tripe, which is a house specialty. Anything you can save room for is worth getting—charcuterie, fromage, sorbet, rum—so come in here with an empty stomach!
