My son and I played the front 9 on the Egret course Tuesday evening. We are from PA, and come to NC each year. I try to play here each year because it is a terrific course.Even with all the challenges this year with covid, and the weather, the course was in great shape. Very nice layout, with some beautiful surroundings. The rough can be challenging, and the greens were very fast due to the time of day. These are not complaints, just an accurate description of the course. Tee boxes, fairways, all great shape. I have played here quite a few times, and always feel it is worth the money to play here. Friendly staff also. I highly recommend playing here if you can.

Great layout, really expected the greens to be healed alot more than they were. All employees were very friendly. Heron 9 greens still very sandy.Cart paths the absolute roughest i ever experienced in over 100 courses. Its about 64 miles from garden city so i was expecting a great course.

Our group has played there about 10 rounds per year- most recently yesterday- Heron to Ibis. One of the top 3 courses in the Calabash- M Beach area. A must play with beautifully manicured fast greens all year long.

An hours drive from Wilmington for a first time out here. Bags dropped and off to the grass range in the junk golf cart that wouldn't steer properly, was told new cart are due at the end of the month. The course is wide open, you see a bit of sand in your field of view but it never really affects your tee shot. Greens have plenty of sand around them and the greens themselves are tricked out. Probably this courses defense. Lots of slopes to every putt. Not all the greens were in great shape, lots of dead and sanded areas. Fairways are wide so good for all levels of players, though this place was wet and probably soaking when it rains, even just a little. Tee-boxes were nice and well kept. Staff were very friendly though the absence of a beverage cart was a bit of a downer. Good point to this course is you can walk it if you want to which is always a good thing from my point of view. For the deal we had to play after 1pm. I would recommend a trip to play here.
