Great restaurant and atmosphere. Been able to buy food for my friends, however, they don't serve vegan cakes. The vegetarian cakes look so tasty and decent portions for who places an order. Polite staff and very friendly when you start to speak with them and not treat as a simple waitress. The order is served on the tables, however, now is only takeaways.
On holiday in the area, didn't fancy cooking so checked out the local chippy for tea. We weren't disappointed, delicious chips, no eyes or blemishes, thick tasty gravy and probably the best freshly cooked, locally sourced, newly caught haddock we have ever tasted... Only criticism, the young girls serving couldn't understand chips in a tray with gravy with fish on top.. and not enough salt & vinegar.. Otherwise beautifully cooked fish in a crispy batter and really tasty chips and gravy....
Very good fish & chips and pie & chips, nicely boxed for takeaway. A good sized cod portion and a nice crispy crust steak pie with plenty of steak. Chips were tasty and crisp. Social distancing well managed with clear one way system in place and markings.
So happy that we stopped here on our Alnwick Castle tour, kept seeing reviews for their Fish and Chips and we were not disappointed. Highly recommend this for anyone in the area wanting a good Fish and chips. My wife and I also got their Jalapeno Poppers as a side, they were so delicious!
