The chef is some boy (a compliment) The staff tonight were fantastic too, the guy was called Gaz and there was a lass but I didn't get her name. I've been staying at Hidden River Cabins and I have been eating in and around the area. The Robin Hood Inn is absolutely fantastic for food, ambiance and staffing. When I went, I went with a group of 5, and took the Lab, as its dog friendly. Inside is very cosy and slightly rustic in layout. There was a take out menu, in house menu and specials. We were allowed to order off any menu to eat in. I went for scallops from the specials board, the pie (lamb and black pudding), from the take out menu, and sticky toffee pudding for dessert on the normal menu. The starter was absolutely fantastic, the scallop was cooked to perfection, it was with black garlic sauce which completed the scallop very well. The pie was supposed to be beef or something, although they had ran out. The chef kindly offered to make me and 2 others his award winning lamb and black pudding pie, which came with mash or a type of chips; I had skinny chips, the others mash. I cannot recommend the pie enough, the chef made it from scratch for us and it was by far the best pie have ever eaten. The taste was fantastic and balanced very well. The pasty was ideal, no soggy bottom and perfectly crispy. The food others got looked fantastic too! The dessert was absolutely fantastic too and by far the best sticky toffee pudding I have ever had! At the end, the waiter gave us some homemade chocolate which I would love to buy a box of I cannot recommend this place enough, if I live closer I'd go at least one a week! Absolutely fantastic, probably the best meal I've had for a pretty long time! The price is also very reasonable for the quality and portion size!

Really nice pub with great food and excellent staff. Were happy to cater for a fairly large group of us at the last minute for food (had been stood up elsewhere!). Great atmosphere and nice layout and parking on site. Highly reccomend visiting if you're in the area.

Visited here tonight with the family. They catered for the 9 of us brilliantly, including two that had dietary requirements. The food was excellent, the staff were great. We were served by one of the partners of the business, and he was awesome. Made us all feel very welcome. If we visit the area again, we will definitely be back!!
