Not only didn’t they answer their phone, but when I went in person to ask if they had a table I got an eye roll. Sadly, this has been a running theme in our trip to Gaspésie. Tourist ? Who needs it? They will all go back on CERB in October anyway.

Absolutely fantastic! The food is tremendous. The service exemplary. The setting is beautiful. I only get the opportunity to pass through the area once a year and am already anticipating my return.

We came here with high expectations but were rather disappointed. Despite having reserved an inside table we were placed outside in the wind and onto worn out and uncomfortable lounge benches. As a host you can offer such setup in a club but not a restaurant. Next, it turns out they only sell cold lobster (as well as crabs) and won’t serve them warm - why on earth is that? The wine list didn’t say where the wineries are located and the waiter wouldn’t know - both is quite unusual. Tacos were nice but the moules had a too spicy texture. The petoncles canadiens came in the size of a mere four with a huge bed of overheated risotto which is fairly slim for 35 plus tax. Overall, nice try and initially appealing in connection with the fish shop, but for me the place fell short of its aspiration. There are better choices in Carleton.

Greatest disappointment in Gaspésie. Their \fresh\ lobster is served cold. Can't possibly be fresh. It said so on the menu but I was so excited by what they were offering that I missed the last line: \Served cold\. I complained but they only told me that it was my fault and refused to make any consessions. It was my fault but I had never seen fresh lobster served cold and I was upset that they would not take back untouched cold lobster and insisted on charging me the full amount.

Désolé, je besoin écrire en anglais. As if dining in Québec wasn't already a wonderful experience, we stopped at Bistro Le Frigidaire and had an absolutely stunning meal. They have some really exceptional drinks. Get the smoked whiskey with the apple in it, its truly outstanding. The seafood comes from many places in the Gaspesie, and some of it comes from only a few hundred yards away in Chaleur Bay. The snow crab was great, the smoked oysters were great, the seafood poutine was possibly the best poutine in Canada. Service was nothing short of outstanding. Not enough superlatives to describe how good it was. Worth every penny (or loonie). We can't wait to go back.
