The Nation's Centre for Unmanned Systems Operations West Wales Airport: Established as a civilian airport in 2001, it is the only site in Europe that can enable the flying of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) under regulated conditions. Privately owned and entirely independent, it supplies an exclusive world-class UAS flying environment that includes restricted airspace over land and sea. The NAC - National Aeronautical Centre The National Aeronautical Centre (NAC) is a dual location facility that enables the development, testing and demonstration of systems and technologies in a controlled and fully regulated environment. It delivers unique services and accommodation specifically for military and civilian unmanned systems operations, including access to 14,000 sq km of segregated airspace. This is enhanced by the facilities and organisations at the NAC, all of which deliver support to the sector’s most specialised working environment. NAC @ West Wales Airport: From the airport UAS flight operations may be conducted in Visual Line of Sight (VLOS), Extended Line of Sight (ELOS) or Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS). All flights are undertaken in restricted airspace and in accordance with the airport’s UAS Operations Manual, air traffic management and any Supplementary Instructions (SI) that may be deemed necessary to ensure flight safety. NAC @ New Quay Cornwall: Newquay Cornwall Airport is an integral part of the NAC and significantly extends its capacity. With one of the longest fully instrumented runways in the UK at 3,000 metres and access to 8,000 sq km of segregated airspace; Newquay can play host to the largest of unmanned systems.
