Popped in for some brackets. Nice new store. Not huge but a good variety of DIY stuff available. Has a small garden area outside too. Hand sanitizer available at entrance and screens at tills. Could not go to see kitchen displays upstairs as blocked off cos of covid. Large free car park outside.

Stock levels seem to have always been an issue for Wickes, in whatever store, maybe I was daft in thinking that a new store would be different... it's not. Queuing has also always been a big issue at all Wickes stores, and unfortunately this new store seems to be worse than any of the others for some reason. There does seem to be a trend to have one till open whilst around two other staff members stand behind the other counter trying to look busy on a computer and chatting to other staff, whilst watching an ever lengthening queue develop right in front of their eyes. The staff (particularly certain members) just seem to have a chip on their shoulder..?? one or two of them that I can think of however seem quite cheerful and nice. I'm sure if any staff member reads this review they will instinctively who I am referring to..? The TradePro account is a good point for Wickes if like myself you are in the trades.

Wickes relocated from Great Western Road to a new store on Newport Road. The layout is similar, the same selection of building and home improvement items. Staff are polite and friendly. It's not as big as B&Q but they have pretty much everything you'll need. There's 10% trade discount.

The worst, rudest customer service I've ever experienced. A young girl on click and collect literally couldn't be bothered with anyone, I asked her to repeat what she asked and she just looked at me like I sad insane, finally she asked again, she went off to get my item, plonked it on the counter without saying anything and I took it and left without her having a care in the world.
