Absolutely beautiful and stunning place for a walk, even on a very fresh day.

As it is still free to park here it gets extremely busy. Best time to visit is before 9am or early evening if you enjoy the tranquility of a lovely sunset over the lake. Also the problem with only one exit/entrance is a build up of queue to get in due to people looking for spaces . The walk on the heath and around the lake are lovely and there are refreshments and toilet facilities as well as a play area for small children. If you want something more substantial after walking it is only 5 minutes to the town centre
