Lovely staff and a nice range of cakes. Great for a quick cuppa and a slice. Dropped a star because the Scones I had were good but I have had better. A little fussy? Perhaps, but the cakes I have had here before are excellent, so it was a judgement by comparing to previous visits. Highly recommend and will love even more if they get their scones perfected!!

Disappointed! Always been busy when I've wanted to go. So we popped in on a quiet day. Not too busy. Sat down, ordered at til. Wet wipes on the table to wipe your area ( albeit a natural wood table, which harbours germs). Small black coffee was 1.90, (which was only warm and tasteless). Brown wholemeal Toast, with 2 small pats of butter and a small jar of fruit jam ( bread was only slightly golden, not enough butter) for 1.90. My Wife had Jacket Potato with Beans @4.30 (should have had butter, but it didn't, beans were very hot, which warmed the potato up). Pot of tea was ok, cup was dirty. And none of the crockery matched up. As we left, got busy, and also got crowded and no social distancing. Very Disappointed.
Visited this Trentham shopping village today to spend a day continuing our Christmas shopping list, decided to walk into this place to grab some lunch, we really enjoyed the whole experience, there are individual small and medium size tables for two or four and a great big knights of the round table table where you can choose to sit and be your self or share your dining space with fellow visitors, I must admit I found this most envigurating, it wasn't long before we were sharing conversation and joking with fellow diners sharing this giant table for 12 the conversations had to take a back seat once the food arrived and the food was tip top. The welcome and service in this establishment truly represents the best of Stokie hospitality we shall make a bee line for this place next time we visit Trentham shopping village. Thank you all at Capabilitea. The name by the way is taken from the name of the Trentham Gardens Designer
Oh well. For being a coffee house I received a mighty cappuccino when I actually ordered a latte and my slice of chocolate cake was nothing special. I have to say the coffee tasted bitter which is a great thing knowing that usually it tastes of nothing in this country. The waitress who served me didn't social distanced when bringing my order.
Good coffee, awesome cake, great place to people-watch from the windows! Unlike other reviews we had really fast service (Tuesday lunchtime)
