As with many Cathedrals parts of this beautiful building can be dated to different periods of construction with three distinct architectures. A large precinct surrounds the Cathedral and because refurbishment is taking place on the west side, the best place to get outside photos is at the east end. A good one way system takes you through different parts of the building with the Crypt being the oldest part. The stained glass windows are beautiful and the more modern 1957 windows on the South side are particularly vibrant when the sun is shining. There are Tombs of Henry IV and the Black Prince are housed here. Of course don't miss the Martyrdom, where Thomas Becket was murdered. Plenty to see and enjoy here.

What an amazing building! The stories and the history, hundreds and hundreds of years, all in one place. The sun through the stained glass windows was totally breathtaking! Well worth a visit, an experience that shouldn't be missed.

Beautiful old cathedral. Would recommend to book ahead online to avoid queues. Worth to note it does takes a bit to walk around inside and outside the cathedral so plan ahead your timing.

OMG This place is amazing, I spent the best part of a day walking around this place, it’s Hugh with some much to see and read and explore, it costs around 15 to access the cathedral but it’s totally worth it. When I went I was a little disappointed as it was covered in scaffolding due to renovation although I’m glad it’s not being left the Waist like many other old building. There are amazing things to see like the black knite tomb and the carvings on the wall, the beautiful and designed walls that have been created all those years ago, this really is a magical magnificent building. Only for the fact I’m like 300 miles away I would visit here more regularly. A*** can’t wait to visit again one day.

Absolutely beautiful! We really enjoyed looking around the cathedral and grounds steeped in beauty and history , a free guide download if you scan the QR code and lots of staff around to help and guide you , co vid 19 track and trace before you go in and you need to pre book tickets online , which give you a 1 hour slot , but you can stay more or less time , we can't recommend this place highly enough , we had a wonderful, breathtaking time .
