Great atmosphere. They did a great job at keeping tables apart by spreading everyone out throughout the large restaurant. The food was great including the free tasters. Soft drinks are a little expensive, in my opinion.

I was hoping that the dining experience would be exceptional here having read the reviews, however frankly I was disappointed. The staff and atmosphere were good but the food was pretty average. Hearty but unrefined. We had the mushrooms and crab cakes to start. The mushrooms were good but served in rather too much sauce. Crab cakes it’s hard to go wrong with, although the bowl they were served in tried its best. For entrees we had the gnocchi which was served in the style of a stew, with beef in a red wine sauce which had not been reduced enough. We also had short rib, which was very nicely cooked but served very simply with mashed potato and a gravy, lacking any real imagination.

I booked a table at The Cannery restaurant for a birthday celebration making sure to carefully check the website about their menu options since I have picky eaters in our group. When we arrived the people in our party chose items off of the Lounge menu, which is visible for viewing under The Cannery section of their website, we were then told by our waitress, who seemed a little put off that we were ordering from that menu, that we would not be able to stay in the upstairs part of the restaurant and was promptly moved to the basement more casual area of the establishment because of our dining selections. No where on the website does it say that the Lounge menu is only available in the casual dining area, and the menu is fully accessible from both The Cannery’s information page on Pillar and Posts website and the QR code we were asked to scan upon checking in at the hostess station. The food was delicious but it was disappointing and a little embarrassing to be moved after being seated.
