In terms of food, Cane is excellent. 4.5 stars for sure. Terrific Caribbean food -- no bad options on the menu either. That being said, my order was completely butchered. I waited for 45 minutes on my order and was not offered any compensation, refund, etc. It was a terrible burden to an already heavy commute (drove from VERY far away). That burden was too much to overcome for the great food.

Elevated Trini cuisine.. I didn't even know that was possible!.. and they do a surprisingly excellent job at it. The doubles aren't the messy lump of grease I'm accustomed to, but the flavor is incredible. The roti is good enough to stand alone. The jerk wings have a nice level of heat and excellent flavor. I'll definitely dive deeper into their menu next time I'm in the DC area; I can't imagine the oxtails disappointing. Meanwhile, if you're a local, do me a favor and eat some Cane for me!
Absolutely incredible take-out and service from Cane! Explosive flavors, great ingredients - just everything was perfect. They have nailed it on Trini flavors. If you like Caribbean, or even South Asian food, you will find something on the menu for you. One of the best meals I have had in Washington in recent years!
Cane food, service, and follow-up are fantastic! I wanted to pick up an order on a Sunday for my husband's birthday. They are closed that day, so I worked with Natasha and the chef to have the order ready for pick-up on Saturday, before the restaurant is open for carryout/delivery service. She walked through the best ways to re-heat and prep the food. It was absolutely fantastic! Our go-to is the omnivore Tiffin boxes and jerk wings. We also got a couple of quarts of the rum punch. ALL was outstanding as usual! Happy to support this amazing restaurant!!
This place is TOP five. I'm really excited to see where it places on the city's top 100 restaurant list. The food is excellent. The service is great. It is very small though and wait times are very long. Usually around 2-3 hours. So he prepared for that. It's for sure worth the wait, put your name on the list and wander H street until you get the text your table is ready.
