Wonderful Auction house, definitely worth going to.
Good experience from registration, bidding online, receiving invoice and collecting. Super helpful staff both on the phone and in person at the auction house. Bravo!
Nice auction house, friendly staff
Nice people, but their estimates, as included in the catalogues, are a joke. We drove 2 hours and liked three paintings: a) estimate 400-600 - sold for 3600. b) estimate 300-500 - sold for 750. c) estimate 150-250 - sold for 1500. At a guess 80-90% of the items appeared to be going well over the estimates, frequently at multiples thereof. As I have to assume that Cheffins know their stuff it's hard not to conclude that the estimates are therefore deliberately understated to attract bidders.
