Above average Walmart experience. This location is genuinely spotless, the floor plan is logical, and team members are knowledgeable and kind. This entire stores’ vibe is less hectic than what I am used to in big box retailers, and is definitely where I will return to shop in Calgary. Not as extensive of a selection as some other locations, but there was nothing we wanted that we couldn’t find here.

In 5min walking through the store today I noticed TWO unmasked employees amist being over a year into the pandemic, everyone knowing to mask up in public places and with variant cases literally soring in Calgary. I asked the young fella at customer service if it was store policy for employees to wear a mask. Reply was yes. However he gave No apology, No explanation as to why, No I will look into this, just have a nice day... REALLY! Probably a good thing this location is closing. To the young lady in the home dept and the old gal sauntering down center isle unmasked I sincerely hope you lose your employment when the store closes. Neither of you should be working with the public.
Ordered blinds on-line March 19, and they were expected to arrive at Deer Valley store store Apr. 2, yet the tracking revealed the blinds had arrived March 25. Went to the store, but staff said the blinds were not there, and staff suggested calling Walmart Customer Service in Toronto (?). Cust. Service Toronto suggested double checking with courier company or checking back at the store. Repeated trips to, and calls to the store always resulted in the same, "The blinds aren't here". Final trip April 7, ready to request a refund, but asked store staff to PLEASE have a good look one last time. Low & behold, the blinds had been tucked away in a corner at the back of the store for twelve days, and for those twelve days, staff kept saying we don't have the blinds. Not impressed at all.
Glad this place is closing, everytime I go there loss prevention follows me around and they call over the announcement security check to whatever section I'm in. I might also mention I work for Walmart loss pervention as well and all of the said things are totally unprofessional and against company policy.
A flipino female staff was just diagnosed with covid, and they still don’t close this location! Avoid this location!
Compared to most Walmart’s in Calgary this one is substantially smaller. Which makes it easier to get around but there is way less products. I had gone to this store specifically for a item that would definitely be in another branch but to my dismay was not there. Which I guess is to be expected. One of the employees there was walking around mask-less touching the products.
I would give this store 3 stars but I am giving THIS Walmart 4 stars because there is NEVER a lineup. It is always so dead! They carry a fraction of what a larger store would, but still has pretty much anything you need.
It is a small location. If you don't set your expectations too high, you won't be disappointed. That said, I often have very good luck finding items that other locations are sold out of. Customer service wise, it is Walmart so again don't set your hopes too high.
