You just have to visit this store! The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They answer all my silly questions about games and gaming systems and never make me feel foolish! The selection varies of course and so do the price ranges. Great value for your dollar!

Best video game store I've been to. They have vintage and classic games AND their systems! It was really awesome to browse, felt like I was going back in time. Lots of great games and they have a video section. The staff are also really nice. They have a little lounge and video games that you can play.

The dragging monotony of the pandemic has reignited my interest in video games again but alas I do not own the newest systems nor do I game on PCs. Video game trader has definitely filled in the void with their vast selection of games for past consoles at prices that are so accessible. I literally feel like I'm in a candy store whenever I'm in. Past games that I missed out on can be experienced again without the need of having to buy them brand-new from non-local stores or online (if they are still even available at all!). The customer service I've experienced here is amazing. I've felt very welcomed here compared to the big box stores who only cater to the "new and shiny things" crowd. A big plus is that they are very accommodating when you aren't feeling a game. We've been able to trade back for store credit towards a different game. It's a great concept that prevents waste or being stuck with a game you'll never play again. I am so happy to have discovered this store and I look forward to becoming a regular customer in the future.

These guys know their stuff. They always take the time to talk with me even if we are just reminiscing about the games we played when we were kids. They have a warranty on retro games and there stock is constantly updated. It's quickly becoming my favorite store in the SE.

Great stock, good service and actually decent prices it depends on how high the demand is for a game or console or how rare it is but it really is nostalgic, and an worker is always at the desk to help you. Great place if you want to start a video game collecting hobby!

Video Game Trader is honesty a Calgary gem. Locally owned and staffed by people who are genuine lovers of videos games and all things nerd. These guys know their stuff, and their customer service and expertise is SO worth it; I know I can trust their judgement and their product (vs. you never know what you're getting on ebay, etc.). You don't find a lot of places like this in Calgary, and I love that I get to support local business. HONESTLY GO CHECK THESE GUYS OUT. You won't be disappointed.

Its a decent place to shop when you need the product same day. Great store with lots of selection. Staff can be kind of stuck up and snarky if you ask about the price or condition on anything. Customer service varies wildly depending on who you get that day. I've had some ok service here and also been completely ignored. Some stuff seems more expensive than say eBay or other online retailers for the same products (cost of shopping local). But you have the benefit of seeing the product first hand and after shipping it all works out kind of the same anyway. 1 star for decent selection and beautiful store minus 4 because the customer service has been hit and miss with me, mostly miss unfortunately. Glad to see other patrons have had better experiences.
