Try Again is the loveliest family-run shop, housed just below street level by the entrance of the Opulence Centre. Working in Chinatown, I pass there often, visiting whenever a craving strikes. I love their space, unlike any other shop, and I love their endless range of flavours. I’m typically drawn to all things floral, asking for roses, tea, and pearls. While they make my drink, I either browse their decorations, finding endless Totoro’s speckled throughout, or I head inside the Opulence Centre to Diamond Bakery, and grab a fresh bun to round out my meal.

Hands down the best bubble tea in Calgary, tons of flavors to choose from and the staff is attentive.

Stepping down the steps and into Try Again always feels cozy. The tiny store has been designed for maximum bbt output. The hand drawn menus and figurine displays are quite charming. Most importantly, the drinks are *chef's kiss*. Homemade pearls come in seasonal flavours, and have a satisfying texture that can't be imitated by the chain stores. Try (again) to come early, because they often sell out.

Try Again is a gem, I can safely say it occupies a special place in many people’s hearts. It's always fun to try out their special homemade bubbles that are always a refreshing combo of flavours. They have the softest pearls. All the slush on the menu are top notch. I would have them for lunch at work when I worked in Chinatown because the real fruit smoothies felt substantial. The space always feels cozy with the soft light through the glass ceiling, elaborate meringue candies and Ghibli terrariums. Also, I appreciate how much they care about people's well being during the pandemic. They spritz your hands with sanitizer twice and make sure only one person is in at a time in their small store.

One of the first bubble tea places in Calgary. Their fresh watermelon slush with pearls and lychee jelly is my favourite. (7). Ingredients are fresh and the drinks are not too sweet.
