The atmosphere is awesome, the cocktails are brilliant, and the food is exquisite. Very friendly and accomodating staff. It's not easy to find a place that serves these types of meals at reasonable prices. It took a lot of googling and downloaded menus to find a place that checked all the boxes, including affordability, and The Derrick Gin Mill and Kitchen really delivered. Thanks for doing what you do and catering to a slightly wider economic demographic than many of your counter parts in the area, while still offering top notch fare and service. I will be frequenting this place and recommending it to friends for years to come. Cheers team!

I had a great time at The Derrick on Saturday (Feb 13th), sat at the bar and the service from the two bartenders was exceptional! The cocktails were fantastic and the food was delicious! I highly recommend!
Great atmosphere, food was amazing, best smoked meat sandwich this side of Quebec. Friendly and inviting staff, all round great spot.
Interesting decor, great menu, and the staff add to the experience. Before each lockdown, we'd try to go at least once a month and have celebrated special occasions here as well. We've always felt so welcome and have had an extremely fun time trying the bar tenders experiments (they create new cocktails every month and compete against one another). Franco is the mannnnnn, but truly the entire staff are so much fun to be around. I always recommend this space to friends.
Not great Bob. It was recommended to go The Derrick by a few people, boy was it disappointing. Genetic gin and fever-tree for 23 bucks a double. Cocktail was good, the wings were very good. I almost booked an important meeting here once, very happy they had made a reservation at a different place as this is not really the kinda place to have a nice chat or even a casual drink. One other thing - I think I was the only actually customer in there because the other table of two were - one of them kept going behind the bar, not a great look when it is all staff and it is still hard to get a drink.
Best place in Calgary for great food amazing drinks and a fantastic atmosphere. You can't go wrong here !!!
Simple space with tables spaced out throughout the place along with a bar on the side. Food was average, turkey in the club sandwich could of used more flavour. The turkey was also on the dry side, fries and salad (not pictured) were good. Service was great, our server was always smiling and very happy and enthusiastic.
This place really surprised me ! Very unassuming. You could almost walk right past ! Inside was a throwback to the oil boom by gone days.very cool historical feel. The food was phenomenal. Better than Bridgette or Wednesday room or 10 foot in my opinion! Lol Everything that came out was exceptional! The Price's we're reasonable judging overall rating too. The Gin menu was huge ! If your a gin fan esp aviation gin ( Ryan Reynolds) then this is the place to try ! The cocktails were tasty and had their own twist on modern blends ! The atmosphere was best suited to a group. The only thing I could say bad was that there wasn't enough wait staff. Our waitress was at every table almost and kept busy to the point we waited a bit too long on service. If there was more wait staff then this place would be 5stars easily !
