The school system has upped itself, especially in the form of a Student Wellness Centre which is a great place for children who are sad, worried or angry. However, there is a few things that are shocking. Such as the lunchroom situation. for grade 5s we must sit in a filthy gym and eat there. I remember one time being so squished that i could feel the persons beside me's jaw moving. They need to fix that. More student freedoms help give the school a nicer look. But they need to help create the school enjoyable so that it is not a place where children are forced to sit beside slobs. Oh, and also I once was on the playground when I saw a bag filled with illegal substances. (weed) not okay. They must have a way to stop kids from using illegal substances on (and off) school grounds.

This school was by far the worst school I’ve been to. They don’t give you the correct curriculum that you’re supposed to learn. They give you a bunch of papers and text books and don’t even teach you. If you don’t know the answer they’ll tell you to ask a friend. The gate program was the exact same. We have to do a half an hour suicide run in the mornings and it’s awful because some people have asthma but are still forced to run. Not to mention if you stopped running you would have to run again but with everyone else watching you. The school is so lifeless and the teachers never care about how we feel. I suffered intense bullying from the whole school. When my mom finally reported to the school they didn’t do anything except ask if it was physical. I told them no and they accused me of being the problem. The told me that I was lying about the bullying. I began to cry and still they thought that I had lied. Throughout the end of the year my mom decide to take me out of the school. I moved to a better and more suitable school where I got support. I still have trauma from the experience and it really does hurt me. The school is trash.
I've actually never been bullied once... so that's an up, right? Some teachers there are a bit scary, but if you're on their good side, they'll be nice. Some teachers are really biased to their favorite students, but other teachers are really nice to everyone. Overall, this school is nice. I mean, there's a pizza store on the next block over and a nice convenient store. The only thing is, only grade sevens and up can go there and some students have used drugs. I've seen them myself. The principle of the school cares more about people giving away pop than the students doing illegal things behind the convenient store. But, the GATE program is very nice so far, there's no 'popularity hierarchy' in the GATE program, though I'm not sure about the Science program. Options is very limited, and the only one that I recommend is Band. CTF is messed up, and French isn't prepared well. three-quarters into the year, and we've only learned how to say 'hi, my name is Dorothy' and how to conjugate words. CTF doesn't even help you in the future, as it claims to (cause you definitely need to make cookies every day to help you survive (i mean... if you're gonna teach us how to cook, teach us how to cook real meals for god's sake)). The CTF teachers also know that everyone wants to take something other than CTF, and we don't have enough space for all the people who want to do French--WHY DON'T YOU JUST GIVE UP A CTF CLASSROOM? I mean, you have four classrooms for, like, 10 kids and the French people have 30 kids in one classroom. Fair? I don't think so... But I mean... overall the school is pretty good. I'd recommend it anytime. I've made great memories over the years, it is a great school with good academics.
