I contacted First General as they are one of the contacts provided by my insurance company. I had water damage as a result of a leak off the dehumidifier line which exposed drywall inside the furnace room and carpet and baseboards outside the furnace room to water. Braden came over and took a look (it was over Christmas) and suggested I could save myself some money by renting a dehumidifier and fans at Home Depot (I did not want to make an insurance claim and the size of the job was likely less than my high deductible). He also instructed us on how to remove the baseboards and pull back the carpet to check for damage and optimize drying. Then he came back a few days later to check to see how the drying had progressed. He also provided estimates to get the repairs done. I was very pleased with Braden's courteousness and responsiveness. In the end, we only had to get the baseboards put back on (I did my own painting) and have the carpet stretched. I know that it was a very small job but Braden was very responsive and kind enough to help me nonetheless. I really appreciate it.

They did two basement (flooding) renos for us and were the very best. No hassles, no issues and incredibly timely.
This company hires subs I am assuming for the lowest possible quotes to get the job it seems. Being in the trades for 40 years I have not seen such poor quality work. Their staff that cleared the area of furniture and decor are phenomenal. I am more than disappointed with the final product than one could imagine. Stay clear of this company
This company is outstanding! We had sewer backup in the fall & they were recommended by our insurance company. They were quick & efficient with the initial cleanup (in 5 hours our entire basement was emptied & cleaned up). They then discovered asbestos in our older house & quickly dealt with that issue. Joe & Elle were quick to respond to any emails & calls. They had excellent recommendations & good companies for flooring, painting, & plumbing. All issues were dealt with professionally. I even had a recent plumbing issue (not related to the first claim) & immediately called them for their advice. They responded within minutes & actually came over within a couple hours to sort out the issue. They will definitely be our go-to company for any future work. I did glance at the negative reviews & was quite surprised. Yes, our entire claim took a few months to complete, but it is a lengthy process with many puzzle pieces to put together. I was happy with how well they put the pieces together, & we are very satisfied with the final result!
I have direct experience in this industry and can speak to the continued professionalism of this organization. Commitment to their team and investment as well in the individual is reflected by just how long people stay within this group. In an industry where folks did not plan to have you at their doors this group shows up and pushes through the hard parts. Excellent company.
