Benny’s talks the talk, but doesn’t quite walk the walk. Everything is stunning here, from the decor, to the menu, and even the reservation system. Where things start to go downhill is in terms of cleanliness. The women’s bathroom was flooding from one of the stalls, and we found a fruit fly buzzing around our empty milkshake cup. Not sure if I would return.

So the only reason I'm leaving 3 stars today instead of 1 is because of the previous experiences. I don't know if today was an off day or not but almost everything was aggressively mediocre. This is our first trip back since covid. It definitely feels like the service has gone downhill. I do understand that it was busy but I hit the button for service 3 times within ten minutes for butter. For some reason she literally checked on the tables around our table as if she was avoiding us? I had to stop her and ask. The only time she actually checked on us was when it was time for us to go. Didn't ask how our meals were once during. Only during the payment step. The coffee was lukewarm and watered down. Definitely will be giving them another chance because of the reputation they built up but the experience today didn't in any way live up to that.
Look I'll be honest... I'm an 1886 guy. I have been for 30 yrs. Without getting political, I hope they and the City get things figured out... BUT, I'm down in South Calgary, near our house, and I want to take my family for an absolutely amazing breakfast... This. Is. The. Place! The food was fantastic, filling and it was also fun! Great atmosphere, attention to detail, our service was outstanding and they help you eat great and watch your NOOM calories . Open 7-3, don't even think about the chain places if you're down south, go to Benny's!
Food as always was delicious! I had the fried chicken on a waffle benny, and my beautiful partner had the 6 cakes covered in oooey gooey goodness with a chocolate shake.
Usually don’t really write reviews but it is such a cute little retro place and the people were also very sweet. The food was amazing and cooked perfectly. The prices are really good given serving sizes and quality. The waffle and chicken with eggs was amazing and an instant new favourite. The milkshakes were delicious definitely will go back for just those. Overall definitely a place worth trying.
