My company has been doing the electrical work for Basement Builders for the past 5 years. They are easily our favorite contractor to work for. Over the years I have seen so many contractors that miss the mark. Not these guys! I am always impressed with their ability to deliver high quality work, while staying on schedule. It's easy to see why they are #1.

Basement Builders is a reno company that specializes in basement finishing/renovating - and it shows. They're very good at what they do, their picture portfolio shows they can do fancy basements with a wet-bar and home theatre, but we wanted plain/functional basement and they were able to do that for less than the 2 other quotes we had. We had them renovate most of an 1,100 sq foot basement in about 9-10 weeks, with short notice. They did an office/bedroom, den/family room, bathroom, and closed off a storage room and the utility room. Everything looks great, very high quality work, and the subcontractors they use were all very professional. They've clearly done this many times: they have a well thought out process/contract/agreement form, they post signs at the door and lay down floor protector, arranged for us to pick lights, cabinets, paint, flooring, tile, etc at a minimum places (much appreciated!) and were clear about any extra costs. They arranged all inspections, cleaned up after themselves (we were able to move in even before the final vents were in place), walked us through the layout of the walls/electrical/lights/etc and were even able to arrange a dumpster when we couldn't get one on short notice so we could empty the basement. There's a primary contact so you can ask questions or request changes, if you're unsure they are able to make solid recommendations because they've done this many times (several of their suggestions have already paid off). About the only suggestion I would have is: more regular updates, like maybe a weekly email or text saying "here's what we're doing this week..." as sometimes there were periods when no one was there; also when the initial completion date wasn't achievable the earlier we could be told the better (we'd hoped for 8 weeks) so we could make alternate plan. Overall we're very happy, we would use them again.
They were very professional and were easy to work with. The price was very reasonable for the job done. We were happy we chose Basement Builders for our basement renovation!
We recently had our entire basement professionally finished by Basement Builders. From start to finish of the project they were extremely professional, listening and reacting to any questions, suggestions, or concerns. They had quality control at every step, started the framing within in a week of us signing, and completed the project in the original time frame. They were great value. The overall finished product was exactly what we were looking for, seemlessly matching the upstairs quality and finishing. Would highly recommend them.
I was on the hunt for a contractor to finish my walkout basement. I interviewed several people/companies and finally decided to go with the Basement Builders. The reason behind my decision was their prompt replies and professional approach to the project along with a very reasonable price. Their quotation was submitted quickly and on time, and it provided a complete description of the scope of work with time frame. From day 1 I noticed how organized their team and project manager were. Work started a couple of days after accepting the formal quotation and was completed on time as promised. Ben, the project manager, would give me frequent updates on the status of each phase of the project. Their team was polite and courteous. I would strongly recommend them to anyone looking for a professional and experienced contractor.
We had been talking about finishing out basement for a few years before we selected Basement Builders due to various positive reviews and their expertise in basement development around town. Looking at their website gave us a really good idea of the breadth of projects that they have executed on and provided lots of ideas we could incorporate into our design. Ben and Don looked after our project and we were extremely pleased with the service and transparency – they were always very quick to respond to phone/text messages and had no issues with myself being a bit more involved in the process. They did a very good job setting expectations for schedule and cost, including preparing for any upgrades one might choose. The online selections process makes it very seamless to build the basement with ultimate transparency on cost. The work itself went very smoothly and I can really tell that they take a significant amount of pride in their quality of work and customer service. Trades were all highly respectful of our home and very talented in what they do for a living. I really appreciated their patience in working to make my dream a reality with the installation of a golf simulator, which no doubt required them to go above and beyond to work with the vendor and installation team to make it perfect. We are extremely happy with our new basement and looking forward to enjoying the space for many years to come. Couldn’t have imagined a better outcome.
I am very pleased with with the secondary suite finish by Basement Builders. From the design all the way throughout the entire project, they were extremely knowledgeable and professional. The quality of workmanship and the attention to detail is very impressive and had exceeded my expectations. They are upfront on the pricing from beginning to the end and are friendly to deal with and approachable. I would highly recommend them,
