Initial impressions of Cain and Fuller were good, with Matt Fuller selling us a very professional service. The reality couldn’t have been anymore different. Completely appreciate that the market has been booming this year and all estate agents in the Cirencester area have been extremely busy, but C&F have clearly overexerted themselves in terms of the number of clients they have taken on. Whenever I could get through to their actual office I was always rushed off the phone, rarely received a call back when promised and at one stage an employee shouted down the phone, whilst telling me that we were not their only client and that she wasn’t being paid anymore despite the increased workload that they’ve taken on. I was only asking for an update on the legal process having been promised a call back earlier that week. At this stage we had hardly progressed, despite our property being taken off the market as STC two months prior and there had been no visibility of this within C&F, hence our ongoing requests for more information. Throughout our experience, the only updates received from the selling side were a result of chasing C&F multiple times for news. To give Matt credit, he would sometimes give us a ring in the evening, but at that point its not a great deal of help as solicitors and other agents are not working at that time. Having been made to feel like an inconvenience from day one of being STC, four months later, I politely called the office to request a change of agent. That evening I received a call from Matt Fuller who, after hearing our reasoning, became rather unpleasant to the point of being very spiteful and, again, unprofessional - clearly his true colours and a complete contrast to the service we were initially sold. Goes without saying, but would not recommend. Hopefully they come and retrieve their sign before Christmas...

Moving house just before lockdown, going into rented, then searching for a new property during a pandemic, what can we say - a bit challenging. Absolutely Awful Letting Experience We rented a 3-bed semi in South Cerney. Collected the keys then arrived at the property to find it hadn’t been cleaned - dust everywhere and dead insects and fluff all over the carpets. 4 hours of cleaning for us before we could unpack as a result. The kitchen had natural wood worktops. No one said anything about is, the tenants, maintaining them. Black water marks began to appear not long before our 3-month inspection. Unfortunately, having booked s day off work, we were informed on the day of inspection they couldn’t come. They didn’t actually do the inspection for another 2 months. I’d called in my concerns about the worktop, was told someone would come out but no one did. So imagine our incredulity on being told we were being charged 200 on move out for the water damage to the worktop. Nothing in the contract said we were responsible for its maintenance but we were told we could fight the issue via the ombudsman but that might take months. Given we needed our deposit back in order to buy our new house, we had to pay up. There are other issues (80 for overpainting in white some wall scuffs on the white wall that they spotted) but I think you can see how awful this company are. You have been warned!

Restoring faith! We have used many agents over the years and only started using Cain and Fuller 2 years ago. They have definitely raised the bar and restored our faith in letting agents. Nothing is too much trouble, even when you need to speak to them outside hours (and you genuinely can contact them 24 hours a day)... very refreshing in this day and age! I would heartily recommend them to anyone looking to rent their property, they certainly do provide a trouble free, 1st class service!
