An absolutely disgusting transaction. When I walked in the poor excuse of an owner slumped down on his chair and looked extremely annoyed that he had to serve me!! When he served me he then shouted at me and tutted and sighed. An absolutely disgusting way to treat a paying customer, who spent 8.50 on lunch. I suggest you all go to a real BRITISH cafe next time, not one of these fakes with people who do not care about the community or environment that a British cafe has. Disgusting.

Cafe Deli appears as a clean establishment from the front, indeed they display a food hygiene notice in their window which suggests they have a top rating of 5. However, since May 2018 they have in fact been rated 4, and when inside it's not difficult to see why. We went at lunchtime on Sunday, there was only one table occupied. We asked if it was possible to have pudding only, to be told that they don't do pudding. When we asked if we could have an apple pie and cheesecake this was fine. Whilst ordering it could be seen that the floor behind the counter was filthy, with dropped foodstuffs, an eggshell that hadn't been cleared up and general detritis. Thinking it must have been a busy lunchtime before we arrived and taking some consolation from the 5 on the window we took our teas and waited for our non-existent puddings. So the apple pie and bog standard icecream was fine. The cheesecake had clearly been defrosted in the microwave as some of it was almost hot and other parts almost crystalised. The tea was good. While we finished the guy who had served us started smoking at the back door, the smoke coming straight through into the dining area. It was quite disgusting to eat a revolting cheesecake with exhaled tobacco aroma. My friend used the toilet and said it was clean. Perhaps other reviewers who praise this place just have different standards. And if not, then explain why the owners aren't honest enough to display their legitimate Food Hygiene rating?
Driven up from Brighton for work and stopped in for an early morning Saturday breakfast. Fantastic being open at 7am. Friendly staff, very clean and tidy, great workmens breakfast
Service is always good and can't fault it but the food has been really disappointing recently. Just ordered a prawn salad and the coleslaw tastes off and the prawns are incredibly chewy. Not satisfied with my lunch today :(
Came in this morning to order some breakfast for myself and my partner. Absolutely faultless service. Was given 2 cold drinks instead of hot drinks to takeaway with me. Also had toast thrown in which I didn't expect. Got my food home and was still nice and hot. Great portion sizes for the price. Was also informed that delivery is available which I didn't know. So was given a menu to take home too. Thanks for an awesome and very filling breakfast!!!
