The train gondola here is very retro
Gotcha: the cable car departs every 30 minutes, now I’m here waiting 20 minutes for the next one at 14:00. Time yourself accordingly!
Interesting. Worth visiting.
On a clear day the ride to the summit is greeted with great views. The cable car has clean windows to allow great photos. The vista that awaits you is fantastic.
Why is the stop of the schuttlebus so far uphill of the the terminal? There is a road connection to the terminal station and enough space for the bus to turn. And if not so, why isn't at least the time schedule of the shuttlebus shown at the terminal exit? Why does one have to climb painstakingly uphill just to find out that there is no bus scheduled. Not really customer oriented. And to be clear: The cable car is NOT a good bargain.
One of the best day trips you can take out of Kyoto. Up and over Mt Hiei on the cable way and down the other side to the Kurama line.
