A rude salesman wearing a health and safety badge insisted Clarkes did not have timber I needed despite my being told by phone they had. Had driven 12 miles so asked him to look in yard. There was a lot in the correct size. He reluctantly lent me a saw and stood watching me saw a piece off to fit my car. Very rude in attitude and unhelpful. A pity Clarkes employ rude salesmen when so many polite capable people are unemployed. I have dealt with Clarkes for 40 years and was repairing a field gate purchased from them 25 years earlier. The \gentleman\ who served me is letting the company down.

Despite the fact that it states here staff are wearing masks, one of the assistants was not. Thinking she was exempt, I asked her if she was. I expected her to say yes. She didn’t. Instead, she said I wasn’t allowed to ask her! She also said some other things, nothing to do with the exemptions.
