Iv been here tonight staff was lovely really helpful great customer service. Went out there way to help with my son who has autism was very quick on the ball when he banged his face on the table by getting some ice in a cloth. The food way lovely the place was clean and tidy. I would highly recommend this toby to people hope to visit again soon. And a big thank you to the staff today you really deserve a big well done for being so professional

Excellent service very quiet but this could be due to very good and busy takeaway service. Wondered how carvery worked in current covid climate but waitress asks each person what they want on their plate and writes it down. Very generous portions probably larger than I would have taken myself but got through it as food was 5 star. Only gripe was although working off of reduced menu company hasn't printed revised menu so ordered things that weren't available but that is no negative against the friendly staff and facilities.

The meaks are put together in the kitchen. They seem to be focusing on quantity rather than style. A mountain of food covered with gravy. Had to eat a lot to get to the meat. Some may like this but it basically a pile of brown. I do understand their problem in these challenging times but a little grace in the presentation would go a long way.

I chose this brand new Toby Carvery as somewhere to kill time with my young son. It was indeed comfortable, albeit a cross between Pizza Hut (with bottomless drinks) and a chain pub. Service was absolutely faultless: attentive and friendly. Thank you. I should not have been surprised, however, that there was precious little on the menu other than their carvery. Three weeks before Christmas, it might be more than socially acceptable to have an evening roast. That being the case, it was surprisingly quiet, whilst neighbouring gastropubs and restaurants were packed with festive revellers. Perhaps this branch has not established itself with the locals. I, however, did not fancy a roast for my evening meal, so I ordered a sandwich of - you guessed it - roast beef. Sadly, this was underwhelming, with brown bap, beef and baked peeled (passed off as roast) potatoes competing with each other to be the driest. In the world of Toby, only turkey fans enjoy lettuce in their sandwich! The onion chutney was the saving grace that made it possible physically to swallow anything! A pity their menu is not just a little more imaginative, because otherwise the restaurant was most pleasant, and actually exceptionally good value. We dined at the Toby Burton on Trent on Sunday 28 September, a party of 6. It was the worst meal we have ever had at the Toby, the food was thrown on the plate in a heap. The plates and food was cold. I appreciate that it's not easy having to serve customers at the tables at the moment and that's one of the reasons we didn't complain at the time, it was also a special occasion for us and we didn't want to spoil the day. The sweets we're equally poor, the Eton mess was a bowl of slop, a very poor effort by the staff involved. We have been regular customers at the Burton Toby for many years and this was a very disappointing day for us. Toby you need to do better!
