Looking around for a new GMC Canyon with some particular needs/wants in a new truck, we got a lead at Carter GM, Burnaby. Of the sales team, we connected with Barry and while he didn't have, nor could he find, the truck we wanted, he helped us navigate the factory order process - never once leaning on us to perhaps opt for a truck on the lot. Barry patiently answered all of our questions and offered as much detail as we asked. He was also very easy to contact and kept us in the loop while we waited for the truck to be delivered. Carter gave me a fair credit for my trade-in and dealing with the finance office was easy and transparent! And to think I was dreading the process!

Warning for their over charge service! Got an issue with my Pontiac Vibe to start me car. Have them checked. Ms. Kirsten called back and told me 180 for diagnostic and 520 for starter replacement (all amount with tax included). It was interesting that at the first place I was told that the cost would be 650 on the phone. After I tell them I am not going to fix it for the moment and want the car back. Then I see the estimation on paper is 520 instead. Not sure if that is a miscommunication or purposely giving a higher quote at the first place on phone hoping people will simply accept it after the call. End up I have Canadian tire to do the starter replacement for 330. Was told by Canadian tire staff that, the diagnostic of such a problem will probably charge less than 90. It seems like a half hour diagnostic may take an hour for them to do. Their charges about double to other. If you can find a trustable small shop for repair, you may even save more money.

To be honest I'm ONLY leaving a 5 star review becuase of Leon in the service department. I bought a new truck and it's been nothing but a nightmare. No one seems to care and the service department only wants to see how much money they can get from me. I was lucky enough to deal with Leon this time and he took the time to listen and then promised me he would sort it out. He called me and kept me updated several times and in the end he was able to figure out what the problem was and was able to get it covered under warranty. He was so professional. I will never deal with anyone else but him in the future and the GM should be really focused on retaining and promoting him to management as if it weren't for him, I would have NEVER bought another GM product.
