The Bailiff's at the lake are great blokes was there for sons birthday 4 days fishing trip then lockdown came And had to go andy was so understanding we got a full refund from Paula the owner i want to say thanks for all you did for us please all of you keep safe and thanks Ian and James
A professionally & friendly run fishery with a huge stock of Catfish which was my target fish. The Cats are very hard fighting machines and I was lucky enough to bank 1 during a very wet 36 hours. I found my swim (peg:3) had firm ground with gravel on top, easy for pitching the bivvy in and a nice platform for the rod pod. It was very clean as well. They have a tackle & bait shop on site should you need any extra supplies, toilets I used when I left. The road up to the lake is generally in good shape saving the car suspension, i arrived on a bank holiday in August 2018 and was able to drop into a good swim and within 90 minutes I was into a 58lb PB during a heavy rain storm. An incredible fight lasting 15 minutes, just remember to make sure your using 25lb line loaded especially in the snaggy swims. Hoping to go back next year for a bigger one. Overall a great Cat fish day ticket water especially for the summer Catfishing where Wintons Fishery make dreams come true for many anglers.
Great fishery, really well run and huge stock of Carp and Catfish. The views are lovely too.
