What a wonderful guest visit of Operhaz in New York in 2018. Excellent singers, nice productions of (mostly) unknown for me operas: Bank Ban, Mario & the Magician, Tha Queen of Sheba. I wish to visit your beautiful opera house in Pest one day in the future!!! Köszönöm!

Well worth a visit. Beautifully looked after, murals on the ceiling and gold painted everywhere inside. Marble in the entrance hall opulently designed magnificent building!! There are also impromptu mini concerts just off the main stairs every day. A fun and glorious place if you’re into opera, or not!!
Now being renovated, even you paid 11 euro, you can’t even see the stage, backstage or the seating area. All you can see is the stairs, the corridors and a few rooms. They have opera performance for 10 minutes to make it up to you for the can’t see anything situation. Compared to our recent visit to the Vienna opera house, the Vienna opera house guided tour is the same price but offered a lot more to see. Visit this opera house when the renovation is completed. It looks amazing we had a peek into the renovating in progress of the inside.
The place is going through a construction and there's not much to see inside at this time actually but the 10 minutes opera concert at the end of the tour was amazing and the staff are the kindest!
Currently under renovation but guided tour are available to groups. Breathing architecture, mostly simulated marble, spectacular interiors. Toilets, gift shop. We were privileged as we had a private performance of the opera singers.

Music met passion! As renovation activities were ongoing I couldn’t go inside, instead the team presented a private Opera for the batch of tourists and it was amazing. If you’re visiting then please check the status of the completion of renovation as it would be a miss to not see the main house!
Gorgeous but currently with renovations we could not see the inside. The tours provided were well paced and very informative and included a sample piece with some local talent! I’ll have to come back at the conclusion of the renovations!
