By far this is the best restaurant in Newcastle for modern fine dining but in a relaxed atmosphere. I selected the 3 course meal from the special Sunday menu for 25 pounds. I started with the soup of the day, potato leak soup. It was surprisingly green and excellent. Of note it was very (temperature) hot which is appropriate. The soup was well seasoned the way I like it, but I have a love of salt. Next came the ham hock rillettes which were very porky and good, served with an excellent bacon jam. Vegetable sides were good and cooked properly. The mashed potato was especially good with obviously a lot of proper butter. Lastly the dessert which surprised me. It was extremely good and although I was very full it went down too easy. I arrived at noon when they opened and was the first diner of the day. By 13:30 the place was half full. The portions look smaller but are very filling and honestly I would be very happy spilling every course with another as it was a little too much food.

I just drove 40’ to get here just to find out that the restaurant is closed. You could easily disable your booking options on your website. Unacceptable

We have a lovely Christmas Eve meal at Brunel's. Food was fabulous and the staff were very welcoming.

Absolutely delicious...Bramble cocktail which looked so good i didn't want to drink it...tomato and chilli combo with the amazing homemade crisps (chilli flavoured I think) can't wait to return again
