A lovely day out. Booked on the National Trust website for ferry & island. They gave a good map on arrival. Then spent the day wondering around the island. It's beautiful and unspoilt, we found it very relaxing. Lots of wildlife to spot and views of Poole Harbour. Families could spend the day on one of the quiet beaches. Cafes and exhibitions are shut at the moment but loos are open.

What a fantastic place. It was a beautiful day for our visit and as we strolled through the woodland in dappled sunshine there were the red squirrels. We continued our walk round the Island amongst the baby peacocks, fabulous. Rounded off our visit to the cafe for a spot of lunch before we got the ferry back to the mainland. Well organised allowing for the Covid limitations. I highly recommend a visit to here.

Brownsea Island is enchanting. Everything is clear and paths well marked. It's not difficult to walk all round it very comfortably. It was a special treat to see red squirrels. The viewpoint trail is really, really picturesque and very peaceful on a weekday out of season, as was the whole island. Ferry from Sandbanks very easy, 7 return. If coming from Swanage side, park in the NT car park at Shell Beach by the chain ferry, go across as a foot passenger for a total of 1 return, and hop straight on to the ferry to Brownsea Island.

This is a gem of a place. I am lucky enough to have lived in the area for 40 years so I know about the place! However, for the relatively low price you get a super ferry ride ( covid masks on sadly) and a few hours walking around a small island with a fascinating history and diverse wildlife. A very solid five star destination. The only reservation i have is that Poole Council have been draconian in their parking policy for years so expect high parking prices.

Booked a ferry to visit the island with my boyfriend as it was somewhere where we hadn't been before and it is definitely worth the money. We didn't realise just how big the island is and there are so many places to walk to, we just about had enough time to walk round the island, stop off to take some photos and walk back to catch the ferry back to the mainland. The best part for me was seeing the peacocks with their young, if you want them to get close to you, I would sit on the grass so they don't feel intimidated by you, we did this and the mother and baby walked right up to us. So many beautiful view spots too. All I would say is make sure you wear decent footwear, as I found out the hard way walking round in flat dolly shoes \u200d️
