Whether to Browns for a cream tea and we weren't disappointed. The sandwiches were very fresh and the bread soft and melted in the mouth. The cakes were delicious. The scones could have been a bit more substantial, but overall it was delicious and filling. The restaurant was pleasant and located just out of the centre of the city centre and walkable and just down the road from the Eagle and child pub where the inklings would meet. If you are looking a for a cream tea in oxford you can't go far wrong here.

We took my mother out as a treat to celebrate her birthday. My mother can be a bit difficult at the best of times but Amanda who served us was great - good sense of humour and very patient - explained the rules and understood what we needed. The food was good and generally a great time was had. We were a bit anxious about going out but everything was handled very professionally and this meant we had a lovely time. Thanks
We stopped here for a late breakfast and were really impressed with the whole experience. The COVID rules were very clear and the staff were attentive throughout the visit. The food was tasty and fresh as well as being very reasonably priced for the quality and location. Will certainly be visiting again.
Myself and my girlfriend visited last night (24th December 2020) The staff were friendly and obliging, even when we arrived late for our reservation. The east asian waiter (I'm terrible with names) was very helpful and attentive indeed. For starters I had the Duck liver and pork parfait which was extremely delicious. My partner had the prawn cocktail which she also rated highly. For the main course we both ordered the Chicken Schnitzel where unfortunately things went less well. Upon cutting into it I noticed it was a shade of pink with spots of blood. I sent it back for replacement which was granted. Sadly the replacement was equally inedible as the taste of chemicals permeated the whole thing. I enjoyed the fries and egg though. The profiteroles that were ordered for dessert were delicious though. I'm giving a three stars because of the Schnitzel otherwise the food and service was good.
Excellent food! Superbly presented, filling and sumptuous. Manager service was a little inappropriate but I can put that down to language barrier. The table staff were perfect and welcoming.
