Stunning fortified manor house complete with moat. Short drive from Banbury. Spent a full afternoon here. Good (licensed) cafe and gift shop. Toilets are excellent. Amazing interior. Social distancing practiced inside with hand sanitizer on entry. Stunning garden and grounds. Free parking.

Beautiful English Castle close to Banbury. So picturesque it has been used in many films. It has a beautiful Moat and rolling parkland with sheep and cows. The Gardens are small but delightful and the inside of the castle is wonderful. There is ample parking and the entry cost is reasonable. The tearoom and shop are also good.
First visit and I loved it. A calm and interesting place to visit with lovely cafe. Took my sister there for her birthday because she wanted to visit the little room at the top but it was closed due to need for social distancing, so we will have to go again when it is able to open. They are handling covid restrictions very sensitively so felt safe. Recommend for a lovely visit.
This place is wonderful and very welcoming. The owners are around most of the time. There is a lovely coffee shop at the gates of the Castle. The rooms are beautiful and very well kept. Just a really nice day out. X
Castle was closed when we visited, but grounds were open. Had a lovely walk around the low grounds and then up into the woods at the top of the hill.
