Can't recommend enough; they have a large selection of beautiful timber (and other woodworking supplies) at great prices, and in my experience have always been friendly and helpful.
Nice selection of traditional and exotic woods for maker projects. Limited tools but wide selection of finishes, glues and waxes. Staff really helpful and cheery. Onsite workshop makes quality custom furniture. Definitely worth a visit if you're into woodwork.
Called several times and emailed several times to request a photo of a product (a specific type of wood) I was keen on buying before committing to a long drive to view and collect in person. After months of chasing, I've given up and moved on. The staff on the phone were polite, however, never followed up on their promise to email over a photo. I've since contacted another saw mill who were able to provide an image of their product on the day of request. My advise to Brodies Timer would be to rethink how they're handling customer service and customer requests. If they can't provide photos, that's OK, but let customers know so we can look elsewhere. As a customer I don't expect to have to chase a business in order to make a purchase. Unfortunately, on this occasion, my experience with Brodies Timber hasn't been a good one. Reading the other review, I get the feeling they provide good quality products, however, on this occasion their lack of customer service meant I wasn't able to make a purchase.
Popped in again on Thursday to buy timber, and as always it was a great experience. Kenny took the time to let me browse through all of their many stacks of beautiful hardwoods to find the boards I wanted, was happy to answer all of my questions, and even loaded my van for me. All this less than an hour before closing time, and not a single glance at his watch! The timber I've had from Brodies has always been great quality and well priced, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
