In response to the less than positive reviews... The sugar laden treats are to get your blood sugar back up so you can safely make the journey home. They are optional and would probably be more enjoyable after losing 500ml of blood than a curly, dry ham sandwich. The questions are questions and if you have anything to hide about what you have done with your body then you should have a better conscience about donating blood. I enjoy coming here to give blood, have done so nearly 20 times. It's very quick and professional, I can understand why new donors might feel a bit overwhelmed but trying anything new is scary. It gets simpler the more you do it.

Very friendly, passionate staff. I was quite nervous going in but they helped put me at ease. Good range of snacks, not too long to wait. Good free parking. Can be busy so please don't take a seat up with your bag...

I always give my blood here on a 16 week basis (for women anyway) - the staff are pleasant and prompt - and it really does not hurt, it is done by appointment basis and therefore things rum to time - from start to finish it can take about an hour Plenty of biscuits, tea and water. They take platelets too and this is a longer procedure I always book an appointment as soon as I leave for the next time - you get a thank you letter after your appointment and also a reminder of the next one a few days before with a questionnaire to take with you Walk in appointments are not always possible, but of course you can go in and ask A couple of days it is an early start/finish and then a later start/finish to be more flexible - and occasional Sundays too Please do not hesitate to make it the first time or continue to give blood - you never know when you might need it or even a member of your family A pint of blood goes a long way

Dedicated blood donor center, the staff are amazing and always friendly and professional. It’s a busy place so bookings are recommended although you can always check if they have space for walk ins.

When I arrived inside the stern lady told me to step back outside. I'd never been before so giving blood was a new experience and I was confused by the signage. A little more friendly greeting might help put new donators at ease. Staff probably don't realise it's all quite daunting especially when everyone is masked up. Would be nice to see healthy snacks or even real food on offer instead of crisps and biscuits. That surprised me. Other than that everyone is super friendly, make lovely tea, and we should all be giving blood more often.
