This is a decent place for a lovely stroll, dog walk or cycle in the woods. The routes drop down to and run alongside the River Avon which is a great spot for a view of Clifton Suspension Bridge. The Woods are quite hilly so be prepared for a bit if a hike in places.

Love this place! Gorgeous woods and amazing iron age hill fort overlooking the Avon gorge and suspension bridge. Lovely place for a walk!

Love Leigh Woods but they have removed the basket swing which is TRULY TRULY GUTTING. Our 2 year old was distraught this morning. It's a shame as Bristol is now in Tier 2 and everyone when we have been there (several times recently) respected social distancing. I don't understand why as playgrounds are open. It's a sad sad day :(.

Lovely deciduous woodland with well marked trails & interesting features & views. V busy at weekend, parking difficult. Get there early or park further away & walk more!

Excellent place for an easy hike, close to the city. Perimeter walk should take under two hours, about 9 km in total. Beautiful views of cliffs and Clifton Bridge from the cycle path alongside the river. Paths are of decent quality, but be prepared for some mud; spare shoes would help to keep the car clean.
